THOUGHT OF THE DAY: “Your destiny is to fulfill those things upon which you focus most intently. So choose to keep your focus on that which is truly magnificent, beautiful, uplifting and joyful. Your life is always moving toward something.” –Ralph Marston
AGAIN!! ON POINT!! This ties in perfectly with the blog I posted yesterday — Living Life On Purpose — A Year of 30 Day Challenges. And leads me in the perfect direction for today’s post. Choosing to keep my focus on that which is truly magnificent, beautiful, uplifting and joyful. Since my Grandmother passed away many years ago, and my Mother’s recent illness, and life reminding me how precious it really is, I refuse to live my life any other way. My destiny is to fulfill those things upon which I focus on most intently. This statement reaches deep down into my heart and soul. My life is always moving towards something. I strongly believe that this is true. And I can tell from the participants in this challenge, that I’m not alone in that belief.
Conquering fear is not an easy thing to do for a lot of people. Utilizing fear properly, is a very valuable tool in our lives. It keeps us safe. We all need some safety and stability sometimes. However, if we don’t be careful, too much safety becomes stifling, extremely limiting. To play it safe, is what I was taught. And to play it safe, is what I taught my children. Later in life, I realized there is much, much more to life than playing it safe. Luckily, learning this lesson along the course of my life, I am now able to guide my children in multiple directions. We can find a balance between playing it safe and smart, and also stretching ourselves, stepping outside of our comfort zones, being brave, daring and adventurous.
Mae West said “Be the type of girl who climbs the ladder wrong by wrong.” By accident, this is how I have lived my life, learning lessons the hard way. I am stronger and braver for it and for that I am thankful. I have children who are watching and learning from me, and this is exactly the example I want to be for them. They have goals and dreams that they would like to achieve. They watch me and are inspired by my determination and refusal to quit on my own dreams. My life is always moving toward something. Indeed it is. Some days I’m a mess with way too many aspirations. But a beautiful mess, is how I choose to see it. I have come to just accept that about myself and even love it. I think it makes things interesting for sure. SO I SAY LET’S CONTINUE ON WITH OUR OWN MAGNIFICENT, BEAUTIFUL, UPLIFTING AND JOYFUL JOURNEYS — SHALL WE — AND SEE WHERE THEY WILL LEAD!?!?
