THOUGHT OF THE DAY: “Life has meaning only in the struggle. Triumph or defeat is in the hands of the Gods. So let us celebrate the struggle!” –Stevie Wonder
The struggle is very real. The struggle should not be underestimated. It can throw us for a loop sometimes. It can knock us off our game and on our butts. But each of us has a special beauty and power within ourselves. We can overcome the struggle. It is within the struggle, that we find what we are truly made of and what we are truly capable of. The struggle makes us dig deep. And that’s where we find our heart, our soul, our courage, our strength. We always have two choices. We can either choose to give up or to find a purpose bigger than ourselves to help us keep on with the keepin’ on. In the search for that purpose, we don’t need to look for something grand. It can be. But doesn’t have to be. It only has to be something that we feel magnificently strongly and passionate about. Take the focus off the struggle. We will get through the struggle anyway, one day at a time, one situation at a time. Focusing on something bigger and better than the struggle, gives us the determination, motivation and energy to get through everything.
But in all this, don’t forget that there is beauty in the struggle. There are valuable lessons learned and amazing opportunity for personal growth. If we can learn to embrace the struggle, allow ourselves to experience any emotions that may arise from it. Allow the human in us to just be. Many times our emotions and the intensity of them, can be surprising, even frightening. But they are necessary, Each and every one of them. The capacity that we have to feel deeply, is a gift, a treasure. And emotions, utilized correctly, are very powerful tools. When we can pull ourselves together a little bit and direct those emotions in the right way, they can be fuel added to fire of our passions.
In your search for your passion, for your purpose, I invite you to consider the following deep questions.
